Bloomington Indiana Community Information
Bloomington Indiana is a thriving community in the heart of the Hoosier state. It brings small town familiarity and friendliness, with activities and a social life that rivals other cities that are many times larger. The national newspaper USA Today recognized Bloomington IN as one of the Top 10 student-friendly college towns.
Bloomington is the county seat for Monroe County Indiana. According to wikipedia, the 2001 census population was almost 70,000 for Bloomington proper. And the metropolitan area had a population of over 175,000. And Bloomington has created “sister city” relationships with the following places across the world: Santa Clara Cuba, Luchou Township Taiwan, and Posoltega Nicaragua. So, despite its mid-western roots, Bloomington remains a city and a community looking at things from a larger perspective than its own narrow borders.
And if you do manage to come for a visit, and want to get something to eat, I recommend giving Buffa Louie’s a try. They specialize in you guessed it: buffalo chicken, but that do offer a variety of other fare in a fun, casual, and friendly environment. Buffa Louie’s is located at 114 S. Indiana Avenue, Bloomington Indiana 47408. And their phone number is (812) 333-3030. Give’em a try, I’m sure you’ll like them as much as I do. Fun place to try out.
